Co-requisite: ENC 1102
This course is an introductory survey that stresses both the thematic content and structural importance of British literature form Beowulf through the 17th century. Emphasis is on poetry and drama of major authors including Chaucer, Shakespeare, Sidney, Donne, Milton, Pope and Johnson.
