Description

World Literature I Honors (8th Century B.C.-17th Century A.D.) develops understanding of the historical and cultural traditions of world literature from the Ancient World through the Renaissance. Emphasis is on development of literary sensibilities through works, usually in translation, from Gilgamesh through such authors as Homer, Sophocles, Confucius, Li Po, Catullus, Ovid, Dante, Boccaccio, Chaucer, Rabelais and Cervantes. May be taken for credit without LIT 2120. Admission to the Honors Institute, a 3.3 or higher GPA or permission of the instructor is required.
