Description

Admission to the LPN to AND Bridge Program required. Students will complete 5 hours of class per week (6.7 hours Summer C) and 6 hours of clinical lab per week (8 hours Summer C). Bridge Nursing is designed to facilitate the transition of the License Practical Nurse to the role of the Associate Degree Nurse and to build on the PN curriculum. Nursing III and IV build on and expand from this course. In this course, students gain beginning knowledge about Associate Degree Nursing, the Newman Systems Model, needs as adapted from Maslow and the nursing process. Students learn the components of the role of the nurse, holistic health care across the life span, and application of the nursing process. Student identify stressors and commonly occurring responses to stress that affect clients' abilities to meet needs for oxygen, perception/mobility, physiological and psychological safety, self-esteem, and/or love and belonging.
