Nursing IIA builds on the knowledge and skill acquired in Nursing I. In this, course students learn about holistic health care across the life span. They learn about application of the nursing process to clients and families needing primary prevention and those whose normal lines of defense have been invaded to the extent secondary and tertiary preventions are necessary. Faculty designs learning experiences to assist students in identifying stressors of surgery and pain, the commonly occurring response of cellular deviation, and commonly occurring responses to stressors affecting clients' abilities to meet needs for oxygen, perception/mobility, and physiological safety.
