Description
This course is about the victims of a crime. It provides an introductory-level review of the many facets of criminal victimization and the efforts that have been made in recent years to ameliorate crime victims' pain and loss. It covers a wide range of topics including trends and interpretations of victimization research; victimization laws, programs and services; the emotional and social impact of crime; and the extent of participation by victims in the criminal justice process. The course is designed to blend theory together with practical application as much as possible.
