Description
This course introduces the student to the emergency management system and process. It describes the formal components of the emergency management system, its history of evolvement, and its operations. The course will teach the student about, the emergency management stakeholders, building an effective organization, risk perception and communication, principal hazards in the united states, hazard vulnerability, risk analysis, mitigation, myths and realities of disaster response, national incident management system, preparedness, organizational response, disaster recovery, professional accountability, and the future direction of emergency management.
