Description

REA 0002C F, W, S COLLEGE PREP READING II (4 compensatory credits) 3 hours lecture and 1 hour laboratory per week This reading course is a requirement for the student scoring between 60 and 82 on the reading section of the state-approved college entrance examination, the CPT, or the equivalent to these scores on the SAT or ACT, or standardized test approved by the reading department of CFCC. Students of REA 0001-the first level reading course-are also required to take this course, with the exception of those whose exit score is equivalent to a CPT score of 83 or higher. This course focuses on expanding the reading skills and strategies introduced in the first college prep reading course for improvement in comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and study skills. This second level college prep reading course does not satisfy any degree requirements in communications. No student may enroll in this course more than three times without paying full cost of instruction.
