Description

HIM 2012 F LEGAL ASPECTS OF MEDICAL RECORDS (3) 3 hours per week Prerequisite: HIM 1800 and CGS 1100 This course is designed to assist students with an understanding of the legal principles that govern the health information field. It emphasizes the legal theories underlying lawsuits involving the health care field, medical record content, access to patient records, confidentiality and informed consent, and disclosure of records in legal actions.
