INTRODUCTION TO PHARMACOLOGY (2)
Prerequisite: MAC 1105 or STA 2023
Co-requisite: NUR 1024 or permission of instructor
This course introduces pharmacology concepts that are used in the care of clients of all ages. Within a nursing process framework, students will learn dosage calculation, as well as factors that affect the absorption, excretion, distribution, and metabolism of drugs, and drug actions, adverse effects and interactions. Students will study broad groups of drugs affecting all body systems and learn nursing considerations for specific groups of drugs.
