Description
This course is an introduction to the study of the materials, structures, and feature so the Earth and the processes that produced them. Topics addressed include origin and classification of rocks, volcanoes and earthquakes, glaciations, mountain building, marine geology, hydrology, weathering and erosion, plate tectonics and geologic time. A lab accompanies this course and includes rock and mineral identification and the use of topographic and geologic maps and aerial photographs in the study of Earth's structural features.3 hours lecture and 2 hours laboratory per week.
